Tredegar Band renowned reputation for the exploration of new artistic horizons will
see them perform in the beautiful surroundings of Llandaff Cathedral in a concert
inspired by some of the most beautiful renaissance music ever written.
The centre piece will be the world premiere of ‘Spem in Alium’ by Thomas Tallis,
a magnificent 40 part motet composed in 1570, and described as Tallis’s ‘crowning
achievement’.
Specially arranged for an extended brass band by Christopher Davies, it will
see eight ensemble quintets positioned around the Cathedral to bring a completely
immersive multi-phonic experience to the audience.

programme will be other works inspired by Tallis from the pens of composers such as Vaughan-Williams, Peter Graham and Philip Sparke.
