The band plays a central part in the 70th anniversary celebrations of the National Health Service which take place at Bedwellty Park throughout Sunday 1st July.
The NHS was the brainchild of Tredegar born Labour MP Aneurin Bevan and this outdoor concert in the bandstand amid the beautiful surroundings of Bedwellty Park is sure attract widespread national media attention.
It will also feature the world premiere of a brand new work by composer Tom Davoren based on Bevan’s life and work – the central movement of which is a stunning soprano cornet solo.

The band will also feature a number of other works under MD Ian Porthouse that will reflect the musical heritage of the band and its artistic importance to the town.
